HoTs and DoTs: A Restoration Druid and Shadow Priest

We Interupt this Program

At the time when my guild officers announced that we were taking a break from scheduled raiding over the holidays I was relieved. During the last week of scheduled raids (mid December) I think I only was able to make one of the four raiding nights that week. There was no way I was going to skip parties but I felt a bit guilty at how quickly I abandoned my raid commitments at a time when it’s particularly difficult to fill 25 raid spots.

Everyone Take a Deep Breath

It’s bound to happen eventually. Drama. Usually I hold myself back a little bit from most World of Warcraft related drama. Put it in the light of day, say it out loud and suddenly it seems pretty ridiculous.

The DoTs in HoTs & DoTs

A Q&A for DPS (unnamed) was started by Death Goddess. I thought it was a great idea and it was very sensible of Death Goddess to let the temperamental healers and tanks have their moment in the spotlight first. I refuse to subscribe to a blog written by a Death Knight so I had no idea that this was actually started a couple weeks back.

What is the name, class, and spec of your primary dps? Cassandri, Priest, Shadow.

Why I Love 25s

Lathere wrote a post a while back comparing the two raiding formats available in Wrath these days: 10 mans or 25 mans. She can see all the advantages of running 10s (small group of good players, more personal contribution to success) and is forgetting all the great things about 25s – and it’s not just the gear.

8 Rules of Raiding Etiquette and How to Survive Your Trial Period

Over the last few weeks raid attendance to our 25 man progression nights has been abysmal. Vitare, our guild, is progressing reasonably well (2/5 ToGC 25 man) even though we’re only putting in, at the most, 1 night per week doing 25s. We’re coping with our poor turn out as best we can by recruiting [...]

Patch 3.2 Resto Druid Gear Guide: For the Casual/10 Man Raider

With the changes to mana regen (again) and the boost to MP5, I’ve been scouring through Elitist Jerks posts and articles to try and find some consensus on resto druid gear weightings for Patch 3.2. It took me ages, and I ended up going into Northrend Beasts last week with absolutely no idea if there was an potential drop I should be looking out for.

Now that I’ve finished my reading & research I want to make it easier for other trees out there,and have created a gear wish list so you know what to look out for.

Healing Heartbreak

Our guild finally got the Heartbreaker achievement from XT-002 Deconstructor on Thursday night after only a couple of wipes. I think the reason we were so successful tonight compared to our Wednesday night attempts was the healing team composition we put together. The healing team composition we used for success was:

* 2 Restoration Druids
* 2 Holy Priests
* 2 Restoration Shamans

Of Hard Modes & Guilds

It’s been 7 months since I lead a guild & approximately 1 year since leading a 25 man raiding guild back in BC. To me, one of the most important aspects of guild leadership was defining your guild in terms of game style and progression goals. How can people understand what they’re signing up for if you haven’t made this incredibly clear?

Lath The PewPew Chicken?

In the time I have played Lath the occasions have been pretty few and far between that my services as DPS have been required. In fact 99% of the time guildies & friends are whispering me hoping I will help them as a healer with .

When dual spec was released I was pretty excited. My DPS output while in a resto raiding spec is pretty abysmal. Doing dailies and quests was quite painful and finding out that with a click of the button, I could change to a balance build sounded like a dream come true.

Lath’s All Time Favourite Raid Bosses

I’ve killed Yoggy now and even after many many wipes I still think that he is my favourite boss fight. Cass on the other hand experienced the Yogg portals for the first time on our 10 man run and absolutely can’t stand it. This made me start thinking about what other boss fights have I really enjoyed since I started raiding in BC. Below is a count down of my top 5 fights:
