Considering just how important weapons are to your DPS and, even measuring them against the size of your character in terms of pixels, they’re pretty god damn important as far as gear slots go.
So surely I would remember off by heart the “glory days” of my early raiding and my hard sought after weapons? Nope.
The answer to any gear dilemma is simple: Reforge!
Nothing refreshes a group of raiders like new content to experience, strategies to debate and loot to theory craft. Unfortunately this time there isn’t anything until the expansion and its becoming increasingly tough getting people to show up for our Heroic Lich King attempts.
But I believe that the items available from Cataclysm level 85 heroics will be better than anything available in Wrath of the Lich King. Er, that’s assuming they don’t get their gear itemisation totally wrong. And I think they want all players – even the most hardcore, realm-first chasers – to complete the heroics for loot before stepping foot in a Cataclysm raid.
Sometime during the last month I stopped queuing as a Healer or Damage for the Random Heroic. Now I just choose Damage.
I’ve found myself starting to focus on how to best gear up Restori – my fresh level 80 Restoration Druid – without raiding so that when I’ve got the spare time in the future I’ll be able to PUG the occasional raid for pure fun.
I’ve been doing some research – I want to make sure I buy the very best BoA items around for my Paladin and eventually I expect I’ll need a tanking and healing set. I won’t be queuing dungeons as Damage, so I don’t really intend to put together a high DPS Retribution set. If I go out in the world to complete a few quest, well, I’ll have to just wear my tanking/shield gear. I somehow doubt that there’s much difference between DPS and tanking items at lower levels.
Just because Shadow Priests don’t value Spirit very highly it doesn’t mean that other cloth wearers, and Blizzard, feel the same way.
After last week’s success (earning a Tribute to Insanity – 0 wipes in Trial of the Grand Crusader) our 10 man group decided to push the envelope even further. Last night we ditched our shiniest new epicz to see if our previous achievements in ToGC was a testament to gear… or skill.
For the last four blissful months I’ve been the sole, main spec, Shadow Priest in my guild. That time has come to an end. We’ve just accepted a new Shadow Priest into the guild.
