Rinnum had played World of Warcraft for a very long time and was one of those people who just seemed to know WoW lore. He raided quite seriously back in “classic” WoW as a priest. Then there was some drama and he deleted his all his characters. When he returned to the game he rerolled as Alliance, and started up a Human Warlock named “Rinnum”.

I kept the mail messages for the full 30 days (hoping he might change his mind and return to the game) but eventually I opened and accepted all his gifts. My bank alt now sports her own Noble’s Monocle (so cute!) and is carting heavy stacks of ore around Stormwind.

Rinnum also gifted me with The Eye of Shadow. My guild members were quick to inform me that The Eye of Shadow was one half of a pair of trinkets, required by level 60 Priests to create the weapon of its time: Benediction.

So Rinnum, this one’s for you.

ps. Thank you to my friends who raided Molten Core with me for the Eye of Divinity. Don’t even think about quitting WoW!

pps. Every 30 minutes I can transform Benediction (see the On Use ability) into her sister, Anathema for MP5 instead of critical strike. Two weapons in one. I wish Blizzard would do this again, it fascinates me. Anathema was intended for Shadow Priests, but I’m not quite sure how the stats on Anathema were more suitable for damage than Benediction. I suspect that originally Anathema did Shadow Spell Damage (more than 56), but I’d love for someone else to confirm/deny.
