Patch 3.3 Resto Druid Gear
for the Casual/10 Man Raider

While Icecrown Citadel has been gated, most gear and boss details have already been data mined which is great because we can start planning and making decisions about what gear upgrades are most achievable even before the bosses are available. Something to keep in mind is that the gear you gather at this final step of raiding will probably also form your leveling set when Cataclysm is released.

Saurfang, Blood and Bubbles

I think of Deathbringer Saurfang as the “Bubble boss”. I can’t think of any boss, certainly no others in Icecrown (yes, of course we haven’t seen them all yet) that make you think: Yes. It’s good to be a Priest.

Patch 3.3 & I’m Not Ready

This week has seen a number of posts pop up around the blogosphere about all the upcoming changes and the preparation bloggers have put into making sure they are ready for patch 3.3′s release. I am so woefully unprepared for this new tier of raiding that I’m actually sitting here in front of my computer a bit mopey about it all. I’ve decided to stop avoiding it and instead outline for your entertainment all those things I have managed not to do in time for 3.3.

A Tale of Two TOCs

I logged in on a hot lazy Saturday afternoon expecting to do a bit of leveling with Cass. For those interested we have taken the plunge and started a summer project: to leveling a Gnome Warlock and Mage duo. Little did I know that I would end up doing TOC 25 on not 1 but 2 of my level 80s!

Why is Hardcore Such a Dirty Word?

The term “hardcore” has become a dirty word. No one wants to be labeled as a hard core player; in fact everyone will do what they can to twist the meaning of casual just to make sure that they seem to fit into this category and no one could ever accuse them of being a hardcore player. Forgive me if I stop to roll my eyes.

Shield Wall FTW:
Surviving Heroic Twin Val’kyr

This is how we defeated Twin Val’kyr on 25 man Trial of the Grand Crusader. We didn’t have amazing DPS. We didn’t stack the raid with Arcane Mages (although, that might be a viable strategy all on its own – I’m looking forward to that YouTube video). We didn’t need fantastic latency.

Why I Love 25s

Lathere wrote a post a while back comparing the two raiding formats available in Wrath these days: 10 mans or 25 mans. She can see all the advantages of running 10s (small group of good players, more personal contribution to success) and is forgetting all the great things about 25s – and it’s not just the gear.

Dedicated Insanity and some Less-than-Epic Epics and Rares

After last week’s success (earning a Tribute to Insanity – 0 wipes in Trial of the Grand Crusader) our 10 man group decided to push the envelope even further. Last night we ditched our shiniest new epicz to see if our previous achievements in ToGC was a testament to gear… or skill.

Cringeworthy

This is short and sweet. The tier 10 druid gear is revolting.  I could handle the bird helm, even though members in our raid now call me “beaky”, but this new head piece is loathsome…. yes loathsome. Click here to see for yourself I don’t care that the 2 and 4 piece set bonuses sound [...]

The End of An Era

For the last four blissful months I’ve been the sole, main spec, Shadow Priest in my guild. That time has come to an end. We’ve just accepted a new Shadow Priest into the guild.
