Patch 3.3 & I’m Not Ready

This week has seen a number of posts pop up around the blogosphere about all the upcoming changes and the preparation bloggers have put into making sure they are ready for patch 3.3′s release. I am so woefully unprepared for this new tier of raiding that I’m actually sitting here in front of my computer a bit mopey about it all. I’ve decided to stop avoiding it and instead outline for your entertainment all those things I have managed not to do in time for 3.3.

Lath’s VuhDo Layout

I’ve been asked by a few people what my layout settings are for VuhDo. I thought it would be easier to cover the topic as one single blog post with screen shots rather than by reply to each individual question posed by in game whispers, comments, twitter and email.

Battleground Independence

I watch as a single Paladin or Druid takes to the road picking off an unsuspecting passerby. I’ve started to call them Lone Rangers. They can operate independently. They can lead an attack. I can only follow.

The New Hybrid: Resto/Resto

My primary spec? Restoration. My secondary spec? Restoration.
The best part about having these two Restoration builds is that I am using both my specs, often swapping mid-raid, and my 1000g has definitely paid itself off. It also makes me a little sad. I never intended to be a tree when I rolled this Druid. I leveled Lath as Moonkin and loved it every minute of it until I realised at level 70 that raiding guilds wanted Resto Druids, not Balance Druids.

Tag, You’re It! The Healer Cypher

So the healing community of bloggers are calling out one another to fill in this questionnaire which is definitely not a meme. And because Tamarind asked, and I love reading his highly entertaining posts, how could I possibly deny him a response! The full list which is being labeled the Circle of Healers can be found here.

Dedicated Insanity and some Less-than-Epic Epics and Rares

After last week’s success (earning a Tribute to Insanity – 0 wipes in Trial of the Grand Crusader) our 10 man group decided to push the envelope even further. Last night we ditched our shiniest new epicz to see if our previous achievements in ToGC was a testament to gear… or skill.

Post Patch Nerf (and Buff) Anxiety

Lathere, who is usually so cool and calm when it comes to loot, wasn’t this week. She then explained to me that her Tier 8 Restoration set bonus had been severely nerfed with the latest patch, which, though expected, had come onto the live servers weeks earlier than she had planned. Now I don’t know exactly what the 4 set bonus used to be, but apparently in its current form it renders her Tier 8.5 gear worthless.

The Druid Princess: A Tree Fairytale
(Chapter 2)

A Tree Fairytale is set in the magical kingdom of Dalaran and other raid instances. Its about 1 tree’s adventures with her raiding guild and getting to know a new druid that joined the guild.

The Druid Princess: A Tree Fairytale
(Chapter One)

Now Lath knew that some non-guildy healer had taken her place on the Friday night Ulduar but she didn’t really mind or think about it much. Her guildies were successfully getting through the 10 man hard modes and she was happy just logging in for the 25 mans.

Patch 3.2 Resto Druid Gear Guide: For the 25 Man Raider

OK, this post has been much harder to collate than I expected. Blizzard have made this especially difficult considering they have the same items with different names for Horde & Alliance. They have also named items that drop from both normal and heroic versions of the Trial of the Crusader raid the same… but given them different stats arghhh! To top this off items that have been data mined by MMO Champion, are not showing in Wowhead yet so its hard to get a full view of which items are best.

Instead of waiting for everything to be added properly, I’m still releasing this now, however will most likely edit the post with an update in a few weeks after all the bosses are unlocked to ensure the information is still accurate. For any Horde looking that this post, all the items I’ve listed are the Alliance versions – do not fear! You also have the same items available to you, the names are just slightly different.
