Where Are All The Warlocks?

If you are a regular reader you may have noticed that my achievements have recently been updated and show that I have been raiding again. I lasted on casual for a total of 14 weeks, and now that I can stay awake past 9pm and have more energy (sadly 18 weeks and still throwing up [...]

Going Casual & Other Stuff

Well it’s been awhile, over a month in fact since I last posted. It’s strange the longer it goes without writing, the harder it has been to start again. I haven’t quit playing or anything though RL has been incredibly demanding taking up all my time of late and I’m sorry in advance that this [...]

Priests have all the Personality

Are you watching Big Crits too? (Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5)

Big Crits is a newly formed 25 man World of Warcraft raiding guild. And everything that happens in the guild raids is recorded and edited back for us to watch as online episodes: an inside look into the running of a raiding guild.

10 Man Drama in a 25 Man Guild

Lathere promised me about a dozen times that she would write a post about how 10 man groups can just about ruin a 25 man raiding guild. Are you in a 25 man guild? How many times have 10 mans been the source of your drama? I’ll bet a hell of a lot of the time.

The Guild Bank: How Does Your Guild Make Money?

I would be very interested to hear how other guilds run their guild banks and how they fill their coffers. In fact I would really like to get heaps of information and do a guide because frankly Google just didn’t cut it for me this time.

Too Many Cooks

My guild raids, especially when you listen to vent, are starting to suffer from a case of too many cooks spoil the broth. After every single wipe – on bosses we’ve been working on for weeks, or bosses we’ve been working on for just one night – vent explodes with heated debate and “suggestions”. We stand, all buffed and ready to pull again, while we argue amongst ourselves on Vent.

Self Censored

Since Christmas Lathere has spent more time administering the guild than actually playing the game. And the topics she wants to blog about include all the bad stuff that comes with being part of the running of a guild.

The Asshat Clause

I’m sure you’ve heard of it, and chances are your guild has one:

We don’t care how good a player you are, if you’re an asshole we’ll boot you.

I have to admit I’m a bit of a softy and take pity on people with poor social skills. I prefer to work around their ineptness by ignoring them as much as humanly possible. For the first time since I started raiding I was tempted to /gkick a raider in the middle of raid even though we were already short a member and really needed him.

10 Tips to Successfully Apply
to a Raiding Guild

This post is going address the common things I look for when going over an application in the hope that this information can help some great players find quality guilds to join. My own experience has been applying and reviewing applications for raiding guilds who almost always require applicants to submit a written application.

We Interupt this Program

At the time when my guild officers announced that we were taking a break from scheduled raiding over the holidays I was relieved. During the last week of scheduled raids (mid December) I think I only was able to make one of the four raiding nights that week. There was no way I was going to skip parties but I felt a bit guilty at how quickly I abandoned my raid commitments at a time when it’s particularly difficult to fill 25 raid spots.
