Revisiting Razorfen Kraul

If you choose to skip the optional first boss (which we did, by mistake) and don’t do the escort at the end of the instance, Razorfen Kraul is a pretty quick instance. It also looks a heck of a lot more complicated to navigate than it actually is. It’s all fairly flat, but the winding branches obscure the path when you look at the mini map.

Revisting Blackfathom Deeps

I’ve queued the Random Classic Dungeon for my little baby Mage (currently level 25) a few times over the last couple of days. I’ve been sent to Stockades the most frequently, and these runs are usually quite successful. But when I was dropped into Blackfathom Deeps it was… an experience.

We Interupt this Program

At the time when my guild officers announced that we were taking a break from scheduled raiding over the holidays I was relieved. During the last week of scheduled raids (mid December) I think I only was able to make one of the four raiding nights that week. There was no way I was going to skip parties but I felt a bit guilty at how quickly I abandoned my raid commitments at a time when it’s particularly difficult to fill 25 raid spots.

Profiteering and the Value of Gear

I’ve seen the Damaged Hilt that leads to QuelDalar drop twice. The first time I was playing Cassandri with some guild members and I passed. That weapon is not an upgrade for me. I was genuinely thrilled that one of our Mages won it. I’d raided with him in the past but he hasn’t played much since Trial of the Crusader was released. And I think he could really use the upgrade. Definitely a heart-felt “grats!” moment.

Then I saw it again.

All the Colours of the Rainbow:
Dungeon Groups 101

This post was inspired by the hundreds of comments that I’ve read over the years from players too afraid to group up with strangers to complete dungeons because they are worried that they will make mistakes. And I’ve been there. Most people fear of failure. You just need to put it in perspective.

Carry Me

On Saturday the daily was Heroic Oculus. I picked up the quest and put myself in LFG and had an invitation before I had finished stocking up on candles. I was the last member (score!) and I was told to dps (omg!).

The Prince and the Army of the Damned

We’ve been raiding and fighting and jousting in Northrend for all this time to take a shot at Arthas and kill him. That’s a lot of anticipation. And the actual final encounter with Arthas needs to live up to that. I’m not talking about the fight being hard. This is not a the-game-is-too-easy-and-I-find-that-unfulfilling type post. This is about letting the imagination run free.

A Quick Guide to Scholomance

This guide is intended to graphically show you a clear path through the dungeon and tell you where to find each boss. You won’t miss any (I’ve left out the one optional summoned boss, I figure if you are completing the quests you’ll be able to find him on subsequent runs). You’ll do minimal backtracking. You won’t run in circles looking for a door. You’ll know when you have finished.

The Easiest (and Hardest) Heroics to Heal

I bought up the best BoE epics and blues at level 80 and started to work the PuG Heroic circuit. Almost 3 weeks later I think I have most of the good epic drops from heroics and several badge items. I’m nearing the point where I’m over geared for heroics now. Mostly from my recent [...]
