Shadow Priest UI Revisited

I gave everything a bit of a shuffle a couple weeks ago, mostly because I needed more help watching my Focus (Lich King) target’s cast bar (Defile) and who is being targeted (Me, or someone else in the raid). I switched to Shadowed Unit Frames. But changing my unit frames lead me to move a lot of other stuff around too. I thought it might be worth consolidating everything into a post.

Ravenholdt

Now I’m thinking these crazy Insane in the Membrane rep grinds might entertain me during the pre-Cataclysm lull. I decided to start with Ravenholdt, even though most guides – and the Achievement itself – start with the Bloodsail Buccaneers.

10 Man Drama in a 25 Man Guild

Lathere promised me about a dozen times that she would write a post about how 10 man groups can just about ruin a 25 man raiding guild. Are you in a 25 man guild? How many times have 10 mans been the source of your drama? I’ll bet a hell of a lot of the time.

Revisiting Blackrock Depths: Prison
(Extended into a Key Run)

Once you’ve completed Blackrock Depths: Prison a few times it’s probably a good idea to start thinking about forging your very own Shadowforge Key. Someone in your party must have a key in order to complete a Blackrock Depths: Upper City run. And once you reach about level 54 or 55 you can expect that most of your groups for Blackrock Depths will intend to do Upper City, not the Prison run.

The 52 Raid Bosses of Wrath

If you had a fresh group of level 80s ready to raid now, what path of progression would you take them on in order to clear every single Wrath of the Lich King boss?

How Come Nobody Told Me About
Fire Nova?

I guess I had completely tuned out when 3.3 was released and they changed a Shaman’s Fire Nova Totem by turning it into a spell, instead of a Totem that didn’t seem to do anything special and was thus forgotten in our Spellbooks. The new Fire Nova is an AoE spell that sends a blast wave of damage out from wherever you dropped your fire totem. It’s such a cool spell! I can’t believe I didn’t know about it, and use it, for weeks.

Prestige

In the fallout of the 25 or 10 man raiding arguments flying around the World of Warcraft blogging community I find myself thinking about prestige. The prestige of being part of a successful 25 man guild. And if, indeed, there is any prestige to be found in raiding at all. Is it something we make up in our own minds?

Revisiting Blackrock Depths: Prison

When the Dungeon Finder was released Blackrock Depths was one of those ridiculously long dungeons that became split up into more manageable pieces. Unfortunately, someone decided that the best way to chunk down an instance that spans 12 character levels (48 – 60) and includes 20 bosses was to split the zone into two parts: Prison, covering 1 boss, and Upper City, presumably covering the other 19 bosses. Makes no sense to me either. But we’ll work with what we’re given.
