If only, I was severily dissapointed with the conclsion to the story of the Lich King, Tirion Fordring though awesome is not in my oppinion worthy of being the one to finish The Lich King, It should be Jaina, or the endless souls trapped inside of the blade Frostmourne including that of Uther, and Arthas's own trapped soul.

Also someone badass should have been the one to replace him not some mutan-elemental-hillbilly looking undead paladin. thats just stupid.

[...] I once wrote that I would be really disappointed if, after infiltrating Icecrown Citadel, my first view of Arthas would be him sitting alone on the Frozen Throne. I wanted him to be surrounded by thousands of ghouls or something like the most annoying Death Knight you’ve ever seen. [...]

You know... Cyn you might be onto something.

He's half Arthas, half Nerzhul (?)... half paladin, half shaman. Perhaps we'll see/do something to split the two personalities.

After reading this, I can't help thinking that the only way to beat Arthas is not to fight him directly, but instead to subvert him -- take everything away from him that makes him the Lich King, the armies, the dragons, Frostmourne -- and then either cage him in a weakened state, or redeem him.

I occurs to me that I might be spending too much time around those Argent Crusade types. Redeem Arthas instead of kicking his butt into the afterlife? :-)

I'm not going to lie. When I quest I can't really get through them fast enough. But there are so many quests in Icecrown that are just *awesome* - the two Arthas ones I mentioned aren't the only greats.

There's also a weird quest where you become a ghoul and start a fight between two pretty stupid ogres, and one where you push gargoyles off cliff faces. I found that one particular fun although I don't know what that says about me.

Well, y'know, it's called the frozen for a reason ... he's stuck.

Seriously though, this was a lovely post (wait, how can I say that without knowing what the post looks like ;). Truthfully I'm a little bored of Arthas these days - it's like you can't take two steps in Northrend without tripping over him, whereupon he makes a big speech and decides not to kill you because ... err ... *cough cough look over there, a joust!*

Also I did Northrend in a weird order and mainly we levelled by 2-manning Outland instances because I got pretty cheesed off with the quests so I missed the sense of development and unfolding you clearly got from it.

So, yes, you've given me a new sense of appreciation.

That Alliance Howling Fjord quest is one of the best quests I've completed. It brought me, on my first toon to trek through Northrend once the expansion hit, right into the moment. It was a nice welcome to Northrend gift.

Have added you on twitter and will check back here often. cheers!
