HoTs and DoTs: A Restoration Druid and Shadow Priest

The Cutest Thing

I ventured into Warsong Gutch the other day (seriously the first time I’ve been back there since Burning Crusade) and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Why? Well it wasn’t because we won, although we did. And it wasn’t the 11 minute battle duration timer either, although that was something of a relief.

Patch 3.2 Resto Druid Gear Guide: For the Casual/10 Man Raider

With the changes to mana regen (again) and the boost to MP5, I’ve been scouring through Elitist Jerks posts and articles to try and find some consensus on resto druid gear weightings for Patch 3.2. It took me ages, and I ended up going into Northrend Beasts last week with absolutely no idea if there was an potential drop I should be looking out for.

Now that I’ve finished my reading & research I want to make it easier for other trees out there, and have created a gear wish list so you know what to look out for.

Post 3.2 Disillusionment

This isn’t about hardcore vs casual. It isn’t about elitism or exclusiveness. It’s about challenge and reward and, even more importantly, timing. This is a rant, reader beware.

The Evolution of My UI: Final

Thank you to everyone who commented on my recent UI Evolution post! As promised, here is a screenshot and breakdown of my final UI. Along with the visual display, I’ve also listed and linked each mod I use so anyone who sees something they like, can download and give it a try.

Snobolds Get their Revenge (and they Haven’t Forgotten about the Candles)

I had done very little prepping (ok, I’ll admit, none) on the Northrend Beasts encounter because I tend to enjoy content more if I experience it first hand with no preconceptions. But I was told going in “DPS the adds first, people with poison and fire have to move towards eachother and run away from the person he targets and stuns”. Well the advice was more or less sound. Still didn’t prepare me when an angry Snobold Vassel jumped on my back and attacked me!

Into Pure Shadow Energy

Blizzard love Dispersion. They want us to love it too. But it’s lacking somehow. I believe that’s because it exists to server two purposes and doesn’t excel at either.

Tier 8 vs Tier 9 Gear Comparison

Last night my guild ventured into the new raid – Trial of the Crusader keen to see how we matched up against the first encounter released – Northrend Beasts. This fight was surprisingly fun and we got the beasties down on the 4th (I think) attempt. With this dropped the first Trophy of the Crusade and the bidding war began! Cass & I are in a guild with an open bidding system where you can bid until you run out of DKP. This first Trophy went for 6.5k which is pretty high for what is effectively a tier token (You also need 45 Emblems of Triumph). Generally only weapons/trinkets make it above the 5k mark.

The Evolution of My UI

Over the years I have played WoW my UI has changed. From using the standard interface, to dabbling with mods, I have slowly “evolved” to what I feel is a more sophisticated and user friendly interface for my game play. My biggest challenge has been mod customisation. I need things to be pretty user friendly after install otherwise it is all too much and I give up on the mod all together. I went through my screenshot folder today and have picked out pictures of my many UI attempts some of which are quite embarrassing but I’m going to share anyway!

From Conqueror to Gladiator in an Hour

I’ve been known to do an Alterac Valley late at night as Discipline but that’s pretty much it. It turns out that you can just buy a bunch of PVP gear with Emblems so Lath took me shopping.
